LINDSAY MOREHOUSE AWARD

Lindsay Morehouse, Williams tennis player and co-captain of the 1999-2000 squad, died tragically while at work in the World Trade Center on the morning of September 11, 2001. Tennis was an essential part of Lindsay's life and, in particular, playing collegiate tennis in the North East Region became one of the highlights of her college years. In honor of Lindsay and her commitment to tennis, this cup was designed to commemorate a senior who demonstrates the athletic and personal attributes that Lindsay brought to Division III women's tennis.

"The cup was presented to the Williams team at the 2002 New England Division III women's tennis tournament to commemorate Lindsay and the contributions she made to the New England women's tennis community. The Williams team presents the cup each year at the tournament to acknowledge a senior player who represents the ideals of sportsmanship, friendliness, character, fair play, and hard work that Lindsay represented."
